Dr Firas Hasan has completed 9 years of university education at the prestigious Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Melbourne Australia. He is also currently completing a medical degree that will qualify him as a Medical Doctor so that he can incorporate his knowledge of less invasive strategies to combat patient pain in mainstream medicine.
After practicing on the Gold Coast looking after the local community, Dr Firas decided to provide his services to outback Western Australia. He gained valuable experience in rural locations very early on in his Chiropractic career and was able to draw on his skills in injury management and rehabilitation becoming highly experienced in ultrasound therapy, soft tissue and taping. Dr Firas was once again drawn back to Queensland and began his first practice in rural Gympie, which he went on to become one of the busiest practices in the region. Dr Firas serviced local farmers, families, children and the elderly and was fortunate to come across some very rare and complicated cases. It was here that Dr Firas gained his passion for wellness care and undertook further training in Chiropractic Biophysics in his pursuit to provide exceptional Chiropractic care to his patients.
To gain further experience Dr Firas opened his next practice in Gladstone a mining town in QLD. He gained invaluable experience in treating acute spinal injuries, repetitive strain injuries and lower back pain that were common among the mining workers. Gladstone at the time was very under serviced by medical professionals, which meant that Dr Firas was consulted by patients for various medical queries further expanding his knowledge in general medicine. This then went on to spark his passion and interest for general medicine which is when he commenced studying his medical degree.
Dr Firas went on to open his third practice in South Australia and it was here that he advanced his training in low force techniques and became certified in the Activator Technique. As Melbourne has always been home, and after having two children, Dr Firas and his family finally decided to return to Melbourne and opened Mooroolbark Chiropractic Centre. Dr Firas is honoured to be servicing the south eastern suburbs by being able to provide highly experienced care with a vast amount of techniques to tailor individualised care to his patients. Dr Firas is looking forward to combining his medical knowledge and Chiropractic experience and training to fulfil his goal of providing exceptional Chiropractic care to all his patients.
Dr Firas also enjoys teaching and is a clinician for RMIT University’s M-PIL Mentor Program and is responsible for training and assessing final year Chiropractic students on clinical skills, diagnosis, technique and patient management. He is devoted to providing his patients with a thorough assessment & diagnoses with the most advanced & effective treatment as possible drawing from his many years of experience and unique clinical exposure.
